Cove Volunteers Needed

The new hot lunch options have been a hit with our students, but shift cancellations, due to unavoidable situations, have diminished our volunteer pool. So, if you are available during the hours surrounding lunch, we could use your help for the remainder of the semester to keep the Cove open. Please contact Lorelei Kay at lkay@smhscs.org to volunteer.

Theater Work Day for ‘Little Nell’
The tech theater crew for the Pirate Theater production of “Little Nell” will hold work days on Saturday, Oct. 23, and Saturday, Nov. 2, from noon to 4 pm. Any alumni or members of the St. Mary’s community who are interested in helping build sets or work with lighting, costumes, props, or make-up are invited to join our students for this work day. Meet on stage in the Cove

Prepaid Cards, Cash ONLY Accepted in the COVE
Beginning Monday, the Cove will no longer accept credit or debit cards. Only our prepaid St. Mary’s cards and cash will be accepted. The prepaid cards can be purchased and loaded (and reloaded) in the Business Office before and after school, as well as during Pirate Period. On Monday and Tuesday of next week, the cards may also be purchased in the Cove during lunch period.

Dress-down Wednesdays
Starting, Oct. 27, every Wednesday will be a dress-down day! For a $1 students can wear jeans (with no rips), sweatshirts (plain, St. Mary's, college, or small logos) or St. Mary's T-shirts. Sweatpants will not be allowed. The $1 will be paid during first period and proceeds will go to the club sponsoring the day. Oct. 27's dress-down day is being sponsored by yearbook.

Help with St. Peter’s Holiday Boutique
St. Peter is having a Holiday Boutique (craft fair) on Saturday, Nov. 13. We are in need of some volunteers to assist in getting ready for the fair, to help during the event, and to help take it down. This is a good opportunity for St. Mary's students to get some volunteer hours, as well as to wear their St. Mary's hoodies or clothes that would help advertise the school. Contact Mrs. Krasovec if you’re interested or click here to sign up online.

Help Plan the Gala
The Gala Committee is looking for volunteers to help plan the Spring 2022 event. Please contact Ramon Falt at rfalt@smhscs.org / 719.635.7540 ext. 40 for more information or to volunteer.

Nominate Us for ‘Best of the Springs’
Nominations for the Gazette’s 2022 Best of the Springs contest are now open. Please support St. Mary’s by nominating us in the Best High School category. You can also support Catholic education by nominating your kindergarten through eighth grade diocesan school and your favorite teacher and coach.
