At St. Mary's High School, we recognize the importance of parental involvement in our students' activities. Our parents are an energetic, vibrant part of our family who wholeheartedly support the students, faculty, and staff at St. Mary’s. All of our students benefit from our parents' time, knowledge, and experience. Our students' successes are a testament to the extraordinary talent and commitment of our teachers, staff, parents, and countless others who support Catholic schools and help St. Mary’s accomplish our mission to be an excellent Catholic high school.
When your student joins our Pirate family, so do you! Parents support St. Mary's by getting involved in our Pirate Parent Crew (PPC). The Pirate Parent Crew, our version of a PTO, meets on the second Tuesday of the month. The meetings begin at 6 pm in the Cove. Please check the school calendar for exact dates and times.

Two years ago I became PPC President. There was no established PPC prior to this. It was a steep learning curve to figure out how we could best serve the school and students. In the last two years, I feel we have continued some great traditions and added a couple of our own. We got the COVE up and running again. The Pirate Store was established. Booster Club was re-started. We continued the tradition of senior sunrise and added parent picnic to senior sunset. We started the college parade. We worked with house council to assist with dances and needs. What we learned is we need more help. Below you will see the positions that came from the PPC president role. I am asking that you carefully consider and pray if you could fill one of these roles. It truly takes a village and our hope is by breaking down this role it becomes manageable. I have enjoyed my time as PPC president and really enjoyed getting to know you and your student. There are so many volunteers that selflessly give of themselves and their time and treasures I wish I could name them all but know that we see you and appreciate you. If you have any questions about what the below positions entail please reach out. The most time consuming positions are booster club and Cove. The other ones will be busy at times but overall not require much time.
PPC President: Collaborates with school administration and house council to coordinate upcoming events and needs. Brings issues that parents, as a collective whole, are concerned about to administration. Will oversee the other positions. (Average 1.5 hr a week)
Booster Club- Works with AD and booster club representatives from each sport to ensure coverage of gate and concessions for home games. Will work with pirate store and photographer to ensure team wear meets established branding guidelines. Work with Cove to order inventory. (Average 2 hrs a week)
Pirate Store- Collaborates with branding committee for new spirit wear. Keeps pirate store stocked and organized. Works with booster club to order team wear. (Average 1 hr a week)
Hospitality- Arranges sign-up genius to help coordinate events such as dances, teacher appreciation, senior picnic etc. (Average less than 1 hr a week will be more during certain weeks like teacher appreciation)
Cove- Collaborates with chef for menu. Manages schedule and orders inventory. Keeps track of purchases and sales. (Average 4 hrs a week)
Volunteer Coordinator- Maintains a list of volunteers and what they are interested in helping with and when. Contacts volunteers when events come up that need help. (Average 1 hr a week)
Below is a form if interested in a position or even interested in learning more about position
Update (4/19) I have had some parents that are interested in different roles but would like to share the position. If you would be interested in sharing a position please indicate on the form above. We have only had a couple responses so I ask again, prayerfully considered volunteering for one of these roles that support our students, staff and school
Thanks
Tara Cuccinelli
