After a forced year-hiatus due to the pandemic, St. Mary's Middle School STEM Camp returned to campus in July. The focus of the 2021 camp was aerospace, one of the state's top industries.

With every spot filled, the 57 middle schoolers studied learned about the aerospace industry and got to test their knowledge through hands-on activities that included launching rockets.

"This year's camp was the best yet," said Mike Kloenne, St. Mary's math and engineering teaching who plans the camp each year. "Students participating in the camp got to fly in small airplanes, launch rockets, experience free-fall at iFly, fly in the glider simulators at USAFA, tour an airport control tower, visit the zoo, and visit the new United States Olympic & Paralympic Museum.  It was  an amazing, action-packed, hands-on camp."

If you have a middle schooler who would be interested in our 2022 STEM Camp, look for registration information in early spring of next year.
