Students4Life Club

Evelyn Bishop and Olivia Davalos will be serving you donuts if you attend our Students4Life club meetings!  They will be co-leading this large club in collaboration with Mrs. Trechter and Mrs. Barrett.   Come join us in our 2nd meeting of the year on Tuesday, Oct 4 at 7:30am in Mr. Kloenne’s classroom, Room 501. Each month, we will have different speakers and incorporate some fun activities for monthly birthdays! You may win a gift card!  Be a part of a club that makes a difference in our community and standing up for LIFE.

 Family Night & Fun

Save the Storks event at Lost Island Adventure Park on Sept 24 from 4-10pm.  Cost is $10 and includes all inclusive gaming and bouncing, food trucks, and concert from Matt Hammitt and & Bowen Hammitt.  Gift for first 1000 children. Great way to have fun and proceeds go to Save the Storks. 

 Stand for Life at the Pikes Peak Life Chain on Sunday, October 2nd from 1:30-3pm.  Be part of a public witness of pro-life individuals standing for 90 minutes, praying for our nation and an end to abortion. For more information, contact Linda Kracht (  Wear your S4L or St. Mary’s shirts to this event. 

 You can do this at 2 different locations, but S4L will gather near Academy and Austin Bluff*:

*Each St. Mary’s student who participates will receive ice cream afterward!! YUM


Respect Life Dinner coming up on October 27 at the Broadmoor and we have 25 seats available for St. Mary’s students to attend.  Please email Lori Trechter directly to save your seat

There are some important dates coming up for students and parents to meet college reps from all over the country.  We encourage parents to attend one or more of these events.

Southern Colorado College Fair – Coronado HS Gym – 1590 West Fillmore St. - Monday, Sep. 26, 5:30-7:30 pm

Denver National College Fair – Denver Coliseum – 4600 Humboldt St. – Sunday, Sep. 25, 1:00-4:00 pm

Christian College Fair of Colorado – CSCS – 4855 Mallow Rd – Monday, Sep. 19, 6:00-8:00 pm. Pre-register at the link below.

College Rep Visits at SMHS – Students can look for updates on who will be coming to SMHS and sign up through Naviance – check often for updates!

Senior Parents

The 2022 Colorado Free Application days are scheduled for October 18-20 2022! Who is Eligible to Participate in Free Application Days? All residents of Colorado who are applying for undergraduate programs at all state public and some private Colorado colleges and universities are eligible.

Senior Scholarship Information

Daniels Fund - Students will receive up to 25K to be applied to any two- or four-year, nonprofit, accredited college or university in the United States, depending on financial need. Financial eligibility requirements: applicant's parents must have an adjusted gross Income of 85K or less on their 2021 tax return. Other eligibility requirements can be found at Apply between September 15 and October 15.

Boettcher Foundation - A merit-based scholarship for Colorado high school seniors attending our state's four year, nonprofit institutions of higher education. Selection criteria is based on a holistic process that evaluates applicants on four criteria (superior scholastic ability/intellectual curiosity, evidence of leadership and involvement, service to community and school, and outstanding character). Apply immediately at The deadline is Nov. 1.

Daily Mass

Did you know our daily mass is open to everyone? We have experienced a delightful surge in daily Mass attendance in our St. Leo Chapel. Recently, we have seen an increase in student, parent, faculty, staff and community member attendance at our 7am Mass. As a reminder, our 7am Mass occurs on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in our beautifully updated chapel. You are also welcome, and encouraged, to attend our Wednesday all-school Mass at 11:45am in the gym. Come and experience the peace that only Jesus Christ can provide.


Join Mass Choir

All students and parents are invited to join our mass choir. Practice times are during zero hour (7:30-8:10 am) on Mondays and Tuesdays in the music room (701).


2023 Yearbooks Are on Sale

Additionally, yearbook orders will be taken during lunch in the Cove. Parents who wish to personalize their child's yearbook can go to the above Jostens' site and choose the link for Yearbook Recognition Ads. Senior Picture Day, Sep. 30

Senior Portraits and picture make-ups for all students will be on Friday, Sep. 30. 


Fall Sports Parent Volunteers

Please consider signing up to volunteer for fall sporting events to support your student athlete or club. You can sign up to work at either the gate or concessions. AP Exam Fees Due Nov. 1

AP exams for 2023 are $97/each. All students will be directed by their teacher to register for their AP exam during class time via AP Classroom. Students will receive an official order form from counseling for the AP exams they plan to take in May. The fee(s) and the order form are due to counseling no later than Nov. 1.


Board Meeting, Sep. 28

The next meeting of the St. Mary's Board of Directors will be at 6pm, Wednesday, Sep. 28 in the Resource Center. West doors will be opened at 5:45pm.  There will be no board meeting in October as the board will be on retreat in lieu of an October meeting.
