St. Mary’s families are encouraged to host an international student for the full school year or multiple years. Host parents act as surrogate parents for our international students, serving as a bridge for the students as they learn to navigate a new culture and language. Many students and host families build relationships that become long-lasting friendships.

The most successful host/student relations occur when the student is treated like a member of the family – participating in family activities and trips, abiding by family rules, and showing an interest in getting to know the family better.
