March 11--Our Pirate boys basketball team advances to the 3A Final Four after Thursday night's win over Eagle Ridge Academy. The Pirates will face Centauri at 8:30 pm on Friday, March 11, in the Final Four game, which will be played at Hamilton Gym in the Ritchie Center on the University of Denver campus. Centauri handed the Pirates their only loss during the regular season.
On Thursday, the Pirates controlled the tempo of their Great 8 game, running their signature fast-paced offense, which lead to their 91-68 victory over Eagle Ridge. Senior Sam Howery was the top scorer of the game with 29, followed by Andon Mindrup with 19 and Cyrus Hernandez and Ely Ferrera wtih 15 each.
The boys are guaranteed to play on Saturday, regardless of the outcome of Friday's game. The 3A boys championship game will be at 6 pm on Saturday, March 12, at Hamilton Gym in the Ritchie Center on the University of Denver campus. The third place game will be at 2 pm in the same location.
In their Great 8 game, our Lady Pirates played with tenacity and heart, closing a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter to pull within one in the final minutes of the game. While the defense forced turnovers and the shots started dropping for St. Mary's, the Lady Pirates ran out of time and Grand Valley got the win 52-50. It was a heartbreaking loss, but we are proud of the heart and hustle the Lady Pirates showed in the game. Ellie Hartman was the Lady Pirates top scorer of the night with 22.
The Lady Pirates finish their season as regional champions with a record of 20-5.

- There is no longer an indoor mask mandate at DU.
- PARKING at DU: Lot 103 N is recommended parking for spectators. From that lot, spectators will walk to the North Top Entrance of the Richie Center. If that lot is full, visitors are welcome to look for parking anywhere on the campus. See parking map.
- The games will be broadcast on the NFHS Network (subscription required) for any fans not able to attend in person.

March 9--After winning regionals last weekend, both of our Pirate basketball teams continue on in the 3A state basketball tournament, playing in the Great 8 on Thursday! The tournament moves to the Hamilton Gym in the Richie Center on the University of Denver campus. Thursday, March 10, our Pirate boys team plays at 5:30 pm and Lady Pirates play at 7 pm. We encourage all of our Pirate supporters to come out and cheer on the teams as they look to advance in the tournament.
St. Mary's is hosting a hospitality suite Thursday, March 10, in the Champions Room in the Ritchie Center starting at 4 pm. Players' families, alumni, and Pirate fans are invited to join us for refreshments in the Champions Room.
