St. Mary's High School would like to welcome Bishop-elect James Golka who will become the Bishop of the Diocese of Colorado Springs on June 29.
Bishop-elect Golka comes to our diocese from the Diocese of Grand Island, Nebraska. He is a 1985 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Grand Island; a 1989 graduate of Creighton University, where he received a bachelor's degree in philosophy and theology; and earned his Master of Divinity from St. Paul Seminary in Minnesota. He was ordained to the priesthood in 1994.
We ask everyone in our community to pray for Bishop-elect Golka, and to continue to pray for Bishop Sheridan and for Bishop Emeritus Hanifen.
