Quarantine.
Students who were physically in the following classes during the specific class period on ***MONDAY, DEC. 7*** will need to quarantine. Click this link to view the quarantine instruction letter on our website.

3rd - Hartzell
4th - Archuleta
Again, only those students who were physically in the above classes on MONDAY, DEC. 7, will need to quarantine and should attend their classes remotely for the remainder of the semester and plan for the pre-arranged remote final exams.
Below, you will find additional information about quarantine from our school nurse, Tara Cuccinelli. If you have any questions, please reach out to her at 719.238.2236.
If your student was identified as being exposed, it warrants quarantine. Quarantine means separating an individual or a group reasonably believed to have been exposed to a communicable disease, but who is/are not yet ill, from others who have not been exposed to prevent the possible spread of the communicable disease. Only your student needs to quarantine not any siblings or you unless your student develops symptoms.
Pursuant to the legal authority set forth in § 25-1-506(3), C.R.S., this Public Health Quarantine Letter directs your student to follow these instructions:
- Avoid public places for 14 days after the last day you were in close contact with the sick person. Fourteen days is the gold standard however CDC has released guidance that if still asymptomatic and exposure was minimal on day 10 may leave quarantine on day 11.
- Do not travel by airplane, ship, long-distance bus, or train.
- Any other travel should be coordinated with Public Health.
- Do not use public transportation, such as light rail, bus, or taxi.
- Remain in the location that has been designated for your quarantine.
- Do not go to work. Working from a home-based office is permitted.
- Do not go to school, grocery stores or other public places.
- If you do not have respiratory symptoms, Public Health may authorize limited outdoor activities (e.g. take a walk) as long as you maintain a minimum six-foot distance from any other individual.
- Monitor your students health for fever, cough, or shortness of breath for 14 days after the last day you were in close contact with the sick person.
- Prior to seeking ANY medical attention in an office, clinic, or hospital, you must call and inform that healthcare facility that your student is under active monitoring for potential exposure to COVID-19. You should also contact Public Health, who will inform you of precautions you must take to protect against infecting others at the time you are seeking medical attention. If your students condition requires calling 911, you must also inform the 911 operator that you are under active monitoring for potential exposure to COVID-19.
- After 14 days from the last day your student was in close contact with the sick person, they may resume all normal activities.
This is a good opportunity for a couple of reminders:
- Let's make sure to pray for our community members impacted by COVID-19. Not just those who tested positive, but also for their families and loved ones.
- Please take care of yourself.
- Take a deep breath. Ten years from now we're all going to wish we had stayed calm and were patient with each other. Let's be those calm and patient people now.
