1885 Society

To honor, memorialize, and thank those alumni, families and friends of St. Mary’s High School who have arranged a bequest or planned gift to the School, the School has created The 1885 Society. The Society is named for the year in which the Sisters of Loretto founded SMHS. Anyone who notifies SMHS that the School or Foundation is named as the beneficiary of a bequest or planned gift, or who makes a significant gift to the Foundation during their lifetime, is automatically enrolled as a member. Examples include a gift through a:

• Will or “living” trust
• 401(k), IRA, SEP, or similar retirement plan
• Charitable remainder trust
• Charitable gift annuity
• Life insurance policy
